A question for the Braumeister 20 brewers.
I'm currently brewing on the kitchen stovetop with a 3v set up. Long story short the kitchen is now out of bounds, So I'm looking at moving into the garage and simplifying brew day and I've been looking at the Braumeister 20l.
I understand they have certain limitations regarding the grain bill and batch size.
Id like to know wether any of you guys using the Braumeister have brewed Bell's Two Hearted Ale Clone (close as they come) or Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract using it.
If yes how did it turn out? Were there any difficulties or mash efficiency issues?

Im more than partial to a good IPA, and brew quite a few.
Are recipes with these types of grain bill and batch size achievable without scaling down or double mashing?

Hope some of you guys can chime in with your experience, It will help me to decide wether to pull the trigger on one.

The maximum grain bill is said to be 6kg but people have made adjustments to go higher.

Looking through my brewlogs: https://theschmidts.wordpress.com/brew-logs/, seems my IPAs usually have O.G. just a bit above 1.050. One (No.04) was at 1.064.

I just finished a porter using double mash (2x 4.5kg) with O.G. 1.082.

You might want to ask others at the Braumeiseter forum what modifications they have made to increase grain bill and what their OGs typical are without double mash: https://forum.braumeisters.net

I should add that I have been suffering in recent brews with efficiency (60-65%, use to be above >75%). I think it is my grain crush, water adjustments or I messed up my BeerSmith profile.

Thanks for the reply, nice brewlog too, something I need to be a bit better at.
It does seem like the braumeister in theory should be able to handle a 21 litre (5.5ish) gallon batch size of 1.060 o.g. As long as the mash efficiency doesn’t stray too low.
Mashing in with so much water and sparging with little is not what I’m used to either.
