I was chatting with my father-in-law about the home brew process...got to the part about cooling and I told him that I just currently use an ice bath, but would like to eventually get a coiled wort chiller...after describing what it was, he told me that he had an old one that he found a long time ago, but never really knew what it was or anything so it's just been sitting in his basement...I said I'd gladly take it off his hands
Went over the other day to find that he's been working on getting it fixed up, cleaned and usable again...sautering new hose connectors, polishing up a bit, etc...
Here's the thing, it looks like it's made of brass and not copper. I don't have the heart to tell him that most of the ones I've seen are copper, so I'll be taking it either way...but what are the potential downfalls of using this if any??
