So...I just started up a few months ago now, have 3 brews under my belt (German Hefe, IPA & Porter) and I am going all in on this new, great hobby.

I bottled the Hefe & IPA and they turned out great, despite a few newb errors.

I pulled the trigger on an early holiday gift when I saw Costco had the Danby single tower kegerator ("Chill 'n Tap") and picked up my first corny keg.

The Porter has been 2 weeks in Primary and almost 1 week in Secondary.

It'll go to the keg tomorrow and be ready for Christmas.

I seached the site but didn't come up with an answer to this little dilemma I'm facing...

Now, I bought some attachments from my Homebrew Store (Torrance, CA) that need to be clamped on to the hoses so that they'll fit on the corny.

BUT - I'd really like to have the option of tapping cornies AS WELL AS commercial kegs if I want to go crazy and throw a party (with a 2 year old at home and one on the way...yeah right!)...

But still, I'd like the option.

Right now, I have plans to cut the coupler off the current beer line hose to attach the corny adapter...

Has anyone done a fix so they can tap both kinds of kegs? Like install some kind of Y-Connector?

Note: I am not the slightest bit handy so if you could draw pictures, provide a power point presentation and perhaps a hologram step-by-step tutor, that'd be really appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Thank you very much....trying to make sense of this because I'm a moron...

So cut off the current beer line and wing nut that I have coming down from the tower....(Danby manual here, top of page 9: http://www.danby.com/cms/uploads/products/en_manual/DKC146SLDB_manual.pdf )...

Add instead mfl connectors like this to the ends of both my beverage line and my gas line that I have coming in from the CO2 tank in the rear: 1/4" MFL to 1/4" MFL Bulkhead Adapter

Which threaded quick disconnects (no barbs) would you say I should I attach to the ends of those hoses?

I do have both the gas and liquid ball lock threaded disconnects (here: Ball Lock Liquid Disconnect, Threaded AND here : Ball Lock Gas Disconnect, Threaded)

Do I then buy more tubing to attach from the no-barb threaded quick disconnects to the ball lock threaded disconnects?

I'm having a tough time picturing it....

But I really appreciate your help!

Get these for your beer and gas line:

Get these to replace the tailpieces on your sanky tap:

Then get these QD for your ball lock cornies:

The MFL connectors screw onto the tailpiece on the sanky, or screw onto the QD for your corinies. Substitute the ball lock QD's for Pinlock QD's, depending on what kind of keg you have.

edit: I have no idea why it isn't showing my links here.

I think I get it! So no extra tubing required; just cut the gas & beer lines, add those barb MFL connectors...clamp 'em down and those MFL connectors go right to the sanky or the QD. How many tailpieces do I need?

You need 2 tail peices. One for beer one for gas. Also don't forget to get the nylon washer that goes in the ffl barb. It's not normally needed with the ball lock qd's because of the plastic tip but when screwing it metal to metal( like the mfl tailpeice) it can leak so you need the washer.

he meant mfl, at least i'm pretty sure. I did the same thing you are doing. But I've really gotten into brewing alot in the past year and a half. I can't tell you the last time I actually had commercial beer on tap in my house. Well, i can't tell you (outside of labatt blue for tailgating, and beer at bars), the last time I bought commercial brew period.

Thank you guys....hey JRems...which one is the ffl barb?

Ffl is female flare, it's the top picture where the threads are inside you need a small $.10 nylon washer if using the ffl barb on metal to metal connection.

Okay, I think I've got it...thanks very much for all your help! And you're right....who knows if I'll ever go the commercial keg route but I love having options.
