Sorry if this question has been re-hashed, but I'm in the process of constructing my HERMS and I have been considering welding a valve to the bottom of my mash tun. To me it seems like a great way to increase efficiency but I've heard that it might be prone to clogs. Does anyone have input regarding pros/cons of this? Are there any clever work-arounds?

Thanks.

No more prone to clogs than a side wall mounted valve. Toss in a false bottom and pull from underneath, its what I do on my kettle.
