Bottling with DME

If bottling with DME and using BeerSmith, is it light Dme that I should use?
What difference would a different dme make?

Yes and the difference will be mouthfeel and the fat that it will take longer to carbonate as DME has more complex sugars in it. The head will be denser and the mouthfeel will be a little creamier IME

all I've noticed is it costs more and takes longer.
