My bottling wand was giving me trouble yesterday, during my first-time bottling (wine) in wine bottles:

The spring-loaded black tip does not engage fully, while pressed in the "gully" between the bottle wall and the bell-shaped bottom recess (technical terms!)

It works, eventually, but the filing rate is slow.

Any known fix, other than looking at a slightly different/better bottling wand..?

I just put the tip on the humpy thing in the middle which Yuri has kindly edumacated me to the fact that it is called the "punt."

Ya learn something new every day. :D

I collect bottles from all over, so I have some that give me trouble, too, trying to fill them. I've found that if I use a long piece of tubing between the spigot and the bottling wand, I can angle the bottle a bit, and press the valve onto the side of the bottle near the bottom and fill that way. It takes some finangling, but it works!

you could try putting a bit of rubber onto the end of the wand just so it wouldnt slip off of the hump, sorry, the punt. I'm sure there's a DIY solution somewhere out there.
