Since moving to kegs, I have not bottled a single batch. But, I found myself without a free keg and have been wanting to put a batch in the bottles anywyays (I need to justify why I still have 10 cases of bottles that aren't being used).

So tonight I bottled up a honey ale I brewed a couple of weeks ago. Thanks to HBT and all of you guys, it was SO much easier than I remember. I took all the little hints and tricks I have found here (thanks Revvy) and put them to good use.

with the help of my oldest daughter on capper duty we cleaned, sanitized, racked, bottled, capped, and put away 5 gallons in just over an hour, a new record for this brewer :rockin:

I really see myself making a few batches specifically to bottle in the future.

Thanks all :mug:

ugg yeah i need to bottle some too just to have - lose and find later send and gifts
and bartter with.
but i just rember hating it.
i have not bottled any thing but wine and mead after i got my kegs and that was 8 years ago

Yea I don't think bottling is that bad, even by myself. I like being able to give people bottles and take my beer places.

BMBG! I fill only the bottles I want filled.

If i ever bottle another whole batch, I am sure Revvy's info will shave some time off.

I use the BMBF often for taking some beer on the go. I just couldn't believe how much faster bottling an entire batch was than wha I remember.

I think from the first bottle to the last we filled and capped over two cases in about twenty minutes.

I bottel a few batches ehre and there, hefes, belgians, etc. But for parties etc, I just use growlers. WAY easier than using the BMBF. Although i do have a beergun if I need something for longer, ie competitions, etc.

I'm actually looking forward to bottling again. I took some of the tips trips from the thread Revvy posted as well and so far everything seems so much better. I made the short bottle filler that goes right on the end of the spigot along with making a cpvc dip tube that was posted in that thread. Two very nice improvements that i liked.

Hopefully all goes well on bottling day.
