Would like to bottle some 1 yr old mead as need the carboys

How do you add the k metabisulphite to stabilize or do you, we have powder

These are 1 gallon jugs that have been racked once so no fruit or anything just some lees at the bottom

Ideally test how much free so2 you have with a test kit, adjust for ph then add the required amount. If you don't have a test kit and you never added any sulfites before I'd calculate about 40-50ppm. The lower the ph the less you need.

With powder you are best to use a gram scale...but there are conversion charts online.

So assuming you are using US gallons:

ppm x gallons x 3.785 / 1000 / .57
