I need a vessel for bottling. I intend to use a 5 gallon water bottle from the dispenser at work. It's grade 7 plastic, but it should be safe for bottling purposes shouldn't it? I hope to have the process complete in an hour or two.

Gotta be grade 2 so as not to leach chemicals out of the plastic,or non food safe mold seperator compounds.

Isn't grade 7 Nalgen-like bottles? As long as they are BPA free (2nd gen), I'd think they would be ok?

Nalgen bottles are used for baby milk aren't they?

Still, make sure it's food grade, otherwise whatever plastic you use could have chem leaching ...

No need to completely cheap out. A bottling bucket with spigot is only $12-16 at most homebrew shops.

I built mine with spigot & lid for $13 from JW Dover over in Westlake. Wanted to be sure it was food safe.
