So I just bottled my third beer, a blond ale, and had a question about head space. I normally just fill the beer to the top and then pull out the wand. It leaves about an inch of head space in the bottle. However, with a couple of beers last night I started tapping the wand on the side of the neck and got the beer to fill much closer to the cap. Is there any benefit or danger in doing this? Does the size of the head space affect how the beer carbs up? Thanks!

Too much head space the less carbed, not enough and you will get over carbed. The bottling wand allows for the perfect head space.
