Just got done bottling my latest batch of brew, a Lone Star clone. One of my biggest hassles when bottling is figuring out where to set the wand when I'm not using it. I've used a tub to lay it in, tried hanging it over the spigot etc but they all have their drawbacks. Then the other day I saw an ad for a bottling bucket. It was a PET carboy with a tap installed and the picture showed the wand attached directly to the tap. I thought that was a great idea, so I figured I could duplicate it by cutting a short length of hose to attach my wand and the tap. Well it worked like a charm. Bottling when quick and never got the wand dirty. :D I love it when a brewday/bottling day goes without a hitch. Only problem is now all my carboys are empty.Plan to fix that problem Monday when I brew my next batch. A Kolsch.

For bottling, I pull a chair up next to my dish washer, pull down the door and run my bottling operation on the door. It's a good platform and all the run-off stays on the door and then goes into the dishwasher. Plus, it's usually pretty clean.

I bottled a high-gravity white yesterday. I'm doubtful that it will be any good because I played around with it too much and it's a bit odd tasting. It could end up being OK once it's carbonated and cold.

I'm making a Kolsch right now. Never had one before, but I'm intrigued by the amount of articles there are solely on kolsch and it's near legendary status.

Tonight (hopefully) I'm gonna bottle this batch of American wheat I've been sittin on. It tastes great! I'm excited because I finally have enough swing-top bottles to do the whole batch with 'em. I think it'll make the whole process a lot quicker. :drunk:
