Happy Monday!!

Question.. When calculating amount of priming sugar for a particular brew, in this case a Saison kit from BSG using a Belle Saison yeast... How important is FG???

Brew is still at 1.012 and has been for a week so I bottled this weekend (Saturday Afternoon). Knowing I could not bottle true to style in 12 oz bottles I used Beersmith's Carb Calculator and came up with this ; 4.75 oz of Corn sugar in 4.5 gallons at 76-78 degree beer temp will give me 2.7 volumes.. Which from what ive read should be fine for 12 bottles...

So with all that said... How does the FG affect this.. if any?? Cause i didn't factor that in cause its not part of the caluculator... I bottled one bottle in a Plastic Bottle to test Carb and in a Day and a half its already firm to the touch...

Thoughts????

Final gravity should not make a difference. If the final gravity has been stable for a few days, that is perfect. The beer temperature at bottling plays a small role, but if you factored that in the calculation you will be fine.

Right, FG isn't a factor in determining volumes of carbonation but if that FG wasn't done then it will continue to ferment and there will be mayhem.
