I was bottling my second ever batch this evening and everything was going well. I decided to use a mix of bottles this time along with the usual 355ml. I filled all my bottles and began to cap them. Then I got to the Beau's 600ml bottles and realised that the capper would not put a cap on these bottles properly at all. So I had to put the beer from 4 of these bottles back into my bottling bucket and proceed to transfer into 355ml bottles. I was paranoid about the beer getting oxygenated because I couldn't prevent it from glugging out of the bottle into the bucket (not too violently, admittedly). I marked the caps of these new bottles with an 'x' so that I know which ones they are. Do you think that they'll taste a little funky because of this debacle? Apart from this, I'm very pleased with the taste of the beer so far. It's a SmashBomb clone that I tried.

No don't worry about it. I don't think you'll even notice. Perfect time to find out...

Probably be okay. But by having marked them, now you have an official experiment! You can do a blind taste test.

The off flavors of oxidation increase with age. Drink your marked bottles first except for one. Save it for last just to find out if oxidation did occur.
Very good thinking marking those bottles.

That's what I'll do. I hope they do taste ok though, because I slightly undershot my volumes on this batch and ended up with less bottles than I hoped for. Ah well, quality over quantity they say, right?!
