Is CBC's Blunderbuss still available on shelves around Boston? Managed to snag some Arquebus in Vermont, but no luck on Blunder :(

We will be releasing just a few more of them tomorrow, along with the rest of the Sorry for Partying glasses and also some of the 2016 charity bottle share shirts.
I'll be refreshing the store page frequently !

Since Don is up HF way this weekend, anyway who might be willing to grab me a Raspberry Soak or two? Can send you a bottle shipper with a thank you beerz included. And PayPay you the cashola, of course. If anyone can hook a brother up, drop me a PM!

Anyone have recommendations for Back Bay? Got a couple friends staying down there next week.

Kinda depends what part of Back Bay, but you can get to anywhere else in the city very easily from there.

There's really 0 breweries right nearby, though.

Usual downtown bar/restaurant recs are Stoddards, JM Curley, Ginger Man, Tip Tap Room. Can go the other direction to Kenmore/Allston/Brookline and hit Deep Ellum/Lonestar, Lulu's, Sunset Grill, Publick House. Or across the bridge north to Cambridge/Kendall Square area for Lord Hobo bar, Mead Hall, Cambridge Brewing Company brewpub.

Trillium Fort Point isn't far (about 2 miles), but there's no drinking onsite, just to go cans/growlers. Row 34 is next door, though, which is my favorite beer+food combo restaurant in the city.

Best nearby shop is probably Craft Beer Cellar Fenway, maybe Bauer Wine (? need a local to chime in on this one) or Urban Grape South End.

That helps. They'll be hitting one brewery (Trillium) Loking for food/bar recommendations close to the Library

Anyone been to the recently opened Terra at Eataly yet? I'm wondering if the wine barrel finished draft beer is a gimmick or not. The online beer list implies they have three taps finished and served from wine barrels with the first beers up come from Dogfish, Cambridge Brewing Company and Trillium.

Salty Pig, Ostra, Select, Sorellina, Toro, Saltie Girl (never been to this one but my sister loves it).

Has Eataly hype calmed down yet? Couple times I've been there its been so mobbed; like a theme park of my nightmares.

Was there last week with family - it was super crowded. No point of reference for what it was when it first opened though. Guessing that as summer tourism picks up, so will crowds but I'd imagine if you make reservations at Terra it won't be quite as overwhelming an experience.

Post 390 all day, and Parish for a very cool theme (sandwiches, each designed by chefs in the Boston area) and a solid beer list

I've been a few times now (I have the luxury of living real close). If you can get a seating, you're in for a treat. Get anything wood grilled.

To all NE beer nerds, the barrel (program?) is still a little young but has a lot of potential. If you get to Terra in the off hours and don't mind standing, you can head up to the bar to try it out.

Probably not, this gets asked all the time and the answer is usually to buy them online. I lived in Boston for 4 years and only once did I ever find a shipper in a store.

Thanks a lot for the reply! Oh well, just going to have to fit what I can in my luggage.

Can anyone help me out with a place where I can buy a 6 or 12 bottle shipper close to Trillium Fort Point?
Closest (although not that close) to Fort Point is a Uhaul store in Somerville:

U-Haul Moving & Storage of Route 16 Medford / Somerville
600 Mystic Valley Pkwy
Somerville, MA 02144
(781) 396-9030

I tried a few times but they never carried shippers when I went.

The Seaport self storage place on E street might have something. It has a Uhaul packing store and I've seen bottle shippers there but I would definitely call first because they don't bother keeping anything well-stocked.

Coming up to Boston for a long weekend. What are some of your favorite bars-cocktails or beer or otherwise. Favorite beer/liquor stores? Any other suggestions that y'all have?

I like Drink and Hawthorne for cocktails. Alden and Harlow has a really great and unique cocktail menu too.

Definitely Yvonne's for cocktails (and food is great too)

JM Curley for cocktails. Heard good things about Casa B as well.

I know the guy who runs the drink program at Capo - I've not been down there since they've opened but he's an awesome bartender/host

Brewers Fork and Row 34 for beer

If you go a little outside the city, Branchline for beer.

Then the regular recommendations (Deep Ellum, Lone Star, LuLu's, Lord Hobo, Publick House, etc.) A lot also depends on where you are staying in the city and how you plan to get around too.
