They make a lot more money from cans than kegs. I assume that's a big part of it.

I certainly can't fault them for doing what makes sense for their bottom line. It is however pretty unfortunate for people like FLBeerFan and myself, who are passing through town, who largely have to miss out on Trillium beers as a consequence.

I'll say, it is interesting to see how much Trillium has dried up on tap. I know when I started planning my trip two or three months ago, places like Worden Hall had four or five Trillium beers on tap at a given time, whereas now a single Trillium line in notable. It seems like since they moved to canning, draft accounts have been getting severely short changed.

A few months ago you could also buy wide ranges of Trillium IPAs on the shelf at a fairly large number of bottle shops, too, and I don't believe they're sending any product out to stores right now.

But yeah, what natejohnson said. They can sell all their product themselves, and I'm sure they make more money doing so, so...

I'm confused, you can't make it to Fort Point?

I can, but doing so is of no value to me, since they only sell beer to go. So I'll be next door at Row 34, and then not having Trillium. Which is fine, because I'm sure there'll be no shortage of other stuff worth drinking.

Worden hall is a bit misleading. It looks like they have a lot on draft but it actually just piles up because their beer seems to move REALLY slow. I'll go there once and then come back a couple weeks later with the draft list barely changed. Having said that I've never had a stale pour there that I wanted to send back

Last time they just had secret stairs on. I think Row gets stuff on monday or tuesday and it's gone well before the weekend. It's usually priced to sell there; I've had $7 pints of ddh variants.

Don and other locals, the Mrs. and I are heading up to Canton on Friday and were looking to have a nice lunch as it's one of the rare times where we don't have the little guy with us. Any recommendations? Preference to somewhere that both a vegetarian and a carnivore can be equally happy, as well as in the opposite direction of Boston / towards Tree House.

I literally eat almost nothing but meat due to needing to stay low on carbs so I got nothing lol.

When i used to live in Canton, we used to frequent Amber Road Cafe. Great brunch, solid lunch items. Only downside is they are usually quite busy.

A friend of mine has been talking up Deadhorse Hill down the street from Armsby in Worcester. That would be on your way to Tree house. The chef's resume is impressive

Anyone else with inputs? Thank you for those provided to date!

Anybody in the area have a spare 12 bottle styro shipper or two? Can trade beer or provide cash if necessary.

FYI - as I was told by brewery staff at CBC, and confirmed firsthand this past Monday with a visit of my own, Trillium has done away with the 20 oz limit for on site consumption at their Canton location.

I realize this is super last minute but if anyone is going to trillium today and can grab me some cans I can deliver cash money and some thank you hill bottles later this evening. Should be in Boton around 7:30. PM if you can help.

Looks like Trillium cans are hitting retail distribution again. My wife brought me back a can of Mettle from Urban Grape in Back Bay.

I thought Never & Again was great. So juice like. I'm not usually a fan of IPAs brewed with fruit but I thought the mango worked well - definitely didn't taste artificial or anything. Really big hops with some nice mango juice on the back end.

I saw mystic brewing recently did a fernet inspired beer, fernetical. Would someone be willing to #gopickitupformebro?

Anyone know what hops Trillium used in A Street?
DOUBLE DRY HOPPED A STREET IPA
Same base grist as A Street IPA, but with a double dose of Amarillo in the dry hop. These Amarillo hops impart a powerful floral aroma with distinctive notes of citrus zest. The taste is bright, floral, and citrusy upfront, finishing with candied grapefruit and orange. As with all Trillium “Street” IPA’s, Double Dry Hopped A Street is dry with medium-light body and a crisp finish.

ABV: 7.2%

MALT: American 2-row Barley, White Wheat, Dextrine, C-15

HOPS: Amarillo, Columbus

Trillium Deciduous was one of the ugliest beers I've seen in a long time and was in no way a brown ale aside from the diarrhea toilet water brown color of it.

I'm not sure what's up with that, they've called it an "Imperial Red" in the past IIRC. Obviously I haven't had this batch but I've really enjoyed that beer in past years.

This was a different recipe from the usual imperial red.

Definitely looked like diarrhea. I didn't really care for it either since it seemed unnecessarily hoppy. I remember getting much more of a malty flavor from past years'

Any improvement on Lord Hobo Brewing? I used to live right down the street and was semi-regular there, but moved away long before the brewery opened. I've tried their stuff a couple times when I'm in town and was always pretty lackluster.

I'll be in town the night after Thanksgiving and my friends and I always end up there, just hoping things have got better.
