First time I've ever bought it cupcake. We shall see if it is worth the coin when I pop it open this weekend. All I'm saying is HT is what.. $16 a 4pack? What are they trying to say here?
That most of trillium blows HT out of the water and running a brewery in Boston is probably a little more expensive than Vermont?

Canton isn't Boston though. They're charging high prices because they can and because people will pay it.

But they didn't close down the Boston brewery. They also need capital for canning line, etc....

Obviously I'd rather their beers be cheaper but I don't think they're egregiously high like they used to be. **** old trillium prices

They're definitely better than they use to be but still higher than they probably should be. I hate to bring up the comparison but THB is generally much cheaper and when they open their Charlton brewery and keep the Monson one open I expect them to keep their prices the same and not raise them. Again they're charging that much because they want to and people will pay it.

But charlton and Monson are also much cheaper than Boston/canton.
Fairer comparison would be night shift IMHO. Their beers are cheaper even in distro. Quality isn't the same but night shift isn't light years behind anymore.

I'm not disagreeing that their beers are expensive, but I don't think their only motivation is to charge as much as the market will bear.

That they will. On my way in I saw 2 guys walking out with as much as they could carry.

Sorry for a question I suspect has been asked before but can trillium cans be bought pretty much without any line wait time at either location?

Oh. and as far as the line goes - there wasn't one. I was there at around 6pm yesterday.

I like that trillium has lots of beers available with a case limit all week. I usually can only go to TH on Saturdays and everything sells out early. Busting my ass for an IPA is ridiculous. Maybe it will be different when the new brewery opens.

Lets not kid ourselves into thinking TH is actually cheap. Normal people dont think a $15 4-pack is cheap. It's expensive and trillium is slightly more expensive.

Yeah, I want to try Stillings Street. I'd like to tick Headroom, but whatever... Don has too many other people to mule for probably :p
I'll get you some stillings if you want, but I ain't going anywhere near the shitshow that is going to be the headroom release even though I haven't even ticked it yet

I wonder if more people will go to Canton. Or will people go to FP thinking everyone is going to Canton? I think this is the first big Saturday release since Canton opened so it's hard to imagine what will go down. I need this tick!!!!

I also need to load up on more stillings st. That beer is incredible

Haha fair enough I assumed you were going! It's cool, I can wait on Stillings, mostly just wanted to give you ****

No I even scheduled a family trip tomorrow so I wouldn't get tempted at the last second. If somehow they still have cans left after 5pm I'll slide in

I mean, up to 750 people can get cans at each location, right? 1500 is a decent amount... Twice the amount of beer as a dinner release?

I believe they sold around that much the first day hundred thousand trillion dropped, and it was announced shortly before and a weekday...

The issue with FP is the fixed daily allotment because of how much they can bring from Canton at once. I think it was 160 cases a day (or maybe I'm way off). They could've already canned it and been sending over cases each day for the release. Maybe they'll do a couple trips but I'd hate to make multiple runs on that route

so I just found out I'm last minute going to CBC this weekend on the 24th (Saturday 12-3:30 session). Any places that would be a relatively cheap place to stay for the night? Don't feel like driving back to VT after a 4 hour binge-drinking festival would be a terrific life-choice.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Anyone in the Boston area want 2 free cases of Rivertown beer? I've got some in my house and I just want to get rid of it. One is a flanders style and the other a berliner weiss. Nothing is wrong with it, I just ocd and don't want it in the house anymore (clutter). LMK.

Either of them any good/worth drinking? I might take a few bottles/cans (whatever they are). Although not sure id want two full cases...

I don't know if they still have any beds left to book, but the place I opted for in Boston, since it is walking distance from the event without costing $400+ per night, is HI Boston. As long as you don't mind giving up privacy and comfort (after all, it is a hostel), it seems a fine solution for a night (or several in my case). When I booked I think it was $65 a night. Rates have probably gone up since, but it is the cheapest solution in the area short of staying with a friend.

I definitely won't have the capacity for a case of anything, but if somebody isn't taking them wholesale, I'd like to pick up one of each. I'll be in town Thursday through Tuesday for CBC with my buddy who has yet to try a sour beer (or really, anything better than a Guinness). Going to be forcing copious amounts of craft beer into him.

Hey Boston thread, I'm in Boston for the day staying in the West End. I won't be able to make it to Canton to drink Trillium, or take cans back from the Boston spot, can someone help me out with a place that serves Trillium within a reasonable walking/Uber distance?

Row 34, right next to the Fort Point location, sometimes has Trillium. Doesn't _look_ like any on draft right now, but you could call and ask if there's gonna be anything on soon. The whole list of places likely to have Trillium is pretty short and on their website. Generally there's very little Trillium on tap around the city at any given time (and when there is, it's usually stupid expensive - love you Brewer's Fork, but don't love your $10 10oz pours of FPPA).

Your best bet is to go to the Fort Point location, buy some cans, and drink them in your hotel room.

Trillium's site has a list of places they provide kegs to:

ON DRAFT:
Row 34- Boston, MA
The Publick House- Brookline, MA
Vee Vee- Jamaica Plain; Boston, MA
Worden Hall- Boston, MA
Pastoral- Boston, MA
Lulu's- Allston, MA
Townsman- Boston, MA
Branch Line- Watertown, MA
Brewer's Fork- Charlestown, MA
Coda- Boston, MA
The Salty Pig- Boston, MA
Canary Square- Jamaica Plain; Boston, MA
Bar Mezzana- Boston, MA
SRV- Boston, MA

Most of these are relatively easy to get to via Uber but definitely check ahead of time to see what's available.

I'll say, it is interesting to see how much Trillium has dried up on tap. I know when I started planning my trip two or three months ago, places like Worden Hall had four or five Trillium beers on tap at a given time, whereas now a single Trillium line in notable. It seems like since they moved to canning, draft accounts have been getting severely short changed.

They make a lot more money from cans than kegs. I assume that's a big part of it.
