I switched brewpots a few batches ago and have had a serious boil off problem. What I want to know is if I can boil with the lid partly over the wort. Will that cause issues with DMS or will I be ok if I leave a 1/3 to 1/2 of the pot open.
Yup I agree. A boil is 212* no matter how hard it's rolling. So save some fuel and boil off less by turning down the heat.TexLaw said:I agree with everyone else. Turn the heat down. So long as you still have a good, rolling boil, your fine. You don't need any more than that, though.
