I'm leaving 5 litres in the bottom of my keggle. This is pretty full of gunk. Irish moss, spent hops and goo from the hot and cold breaks.
Plus I'm loosing around 5L per hour on the boil.

So my question is, is a 10L loss per Boil normal ?

Orfy, I start with 6.5 gallons and add boiling water back to the kettle during the boil to end up with 6 gallons. After draining, I end up with 5.5 gallons in my carboy.

I leave 1/2 gallon with the whole hops and trub in the kettle. I add boiling water back during the boil to account for the loss in steam.
