I was just wondering if there was a connection between the dimensions of your boil kettle and how vigorous of a boil you need to blow off the DMS precursors?

Does a Tall/Skinny kettle need a more vigorous boil than a Short/Wide kettle because of the added height some of the volatiles need to travel?

Generally speaking, the answer is no. Taken to the extreme there might possibly be some issues, but not very likely with any kettle a home brewer might use. The main thing that various kettle diameters will affect is the boil off rate. More surface area results in more evaporation during the boil with everything else being equal such as the amount of heat applied and all that. You only need a moderately vigorous boil to take care of the DMS. I boil a little harder and longer when using pilsner malts for this reason.
