Im planning on adding blueberries just before bottling and Im wondering if I should put the same amount of corn sugar? do I risk of over carbonating my bottles?

Cheers

not sure yet, maybe from a 1 or 2 pounds for whole blueberries

The sugar content of the fruit would be the variable you'd need to measure or estimate. Take a gravity or brix reading of the juice compare it to the gravity of your priming sugar mixture, then reduce the priming sugar to compensate for the fruit. I'm sure some math wiz could help you out with an equasion, alas I am not one of them.:tank:

I would go with blueberry juice. Just look at the grams of sugar on the label and do some quick math

You could also search online for the "usual" amount of sugar in blueberries (how many grams per serving, calculate your amount and the grams of sugar you have).

I think adding fruit at bottling might be a little late. If you want the flavor and aroma, try putting it in for a week or 2 before bottling. Some sugar will ferment out, but you'll have flavor. And the fruit has a better chance of settling out.

If your set on blueberry before bottling you should consider synthetic blueberry flavor.

I used the blueberry flavoring in a wheat beer a few years ago. I personally thought it was a little weird tasting, but everyone else seemed to love it. It's strong, so go easy.
