Blue Corn Whiskey Barrel

Has anyone used on e of these yet? If so, what did you do as a first beer into it? I'm thinking of just increasing the batch size of the American Strong that I'm doing as a second beer for my Bourbon Barrel. I did an Extra Foreign Oatmeal Stout as the first beer into that one. Perhaps doing a barleywine in the smaller barrel would be better? Only problem is I've not found a barleywine that I like, so I don't have a clone recipe in mind.

Any suggestions are gratefully appreciated!

I'm thinking of getting a smaller barrel - just emptied a 53 gallon barrel last night with 10 friends. How big is your small barrel?

The Bourbon Barrel is 8 gallons and the Blue Corn Barrel is 5 gallons. Both were on sale when I ordered them.

I wouldn't know what the profile is. I stopped drinking distilled alcohol over 30 years ago. Now it's just beer, wine, mead and cider.
