Making a Saison for my 2nd batch. Pitched yeast and about 12 hours later i woke up and the airlock popped so i added a blowoff tube. Not enough headspace evidently.
The krausen look good??
And any issue using the blowoff tube thru end of fermentation?
Thnks!

Give it a 24-48 hours with the hose and replace with an airlock once fermentation slows down to a point the airlock can keep up.

I usually remove the blow off tube at the end of day 3, or the beginning of day 4.( Depending on how vigorous fermentation was. ) & put my airlock on.

It's fine to just keep the blowoff tube through the end of fermentation. The advantage of switching to an airlock are:
1. Easier to move fermenter
2. Takes up less room
3. Less risk of tube becoming dislodged (curious dog, toddler, etc).

Any/all of these may or may not apply to your situation. The only time I switch to an airlock is if I need the blowoff setup for another fermenter since I only have one.
