Bloody Mary Chasers

OK, don't judge me.

Well, tonight after a really nice bloody mary, SWMBO made for me with a quarter dill pickle garnish, I remembered that I had a last bottle of my "on-sale cerveza", long story, in the fridge. I poured it on top of the ice, tomato dregs, and lemon and got a surprisingly tasty micheleda.



Should I feel ashamed?

I have had a Bloody Mary with a celery stick, an olive and a lime. It never occurred to me that a dill pickle would fit the bill. I must try this!

Why would you chase a bloody mary with anything other than another bloody mary? Of course that's assuming that a bloody mary needs to be chased by anything. I've always gone with the theory that shots get chasers, mixed drinks, well, you just drink more of them.

That's a good point, as I usually leave Boody Marys and Caesars for the end of my drinking. The spice really crushes the palate and I like to think the vitamins in the juice might help prevent hangover. But I dig the idea of cleaning the glass with beer because tomato juice clings a lot and I've had some great beers designed to be like Bloody Marys.

Sounds like the perfect application for a BMC or Mexican lager.

I love micheladas, but I'd never waste a "good" beer on one.
