hi

I live in Mexico and have been brewing for around a year, not much.

Home brewing is not so popular down hear yet it will come around. My piers are quite happy with the results of my brewing of course, in fact my sister who owns a little bar wants me to start brewing beer for her to sell.

I have an opportunity to buy four 34 gallon conical blichman fermentors to start this project. I wanted to hear a opinions on how this equipment would execute year round making ales.

Any comments are appreciated before I make this investment.

Thanks, Caguama.

depends on your current setup and skill level. There is a lot of advanced stuff you need when upgrading to batches of that size. For example, how big is your brew kettle and mash tun? sure you could do multi-boils like a commercial brewery but you're not gonna want to do more than two or three per batch so you'll need at least 20 gallon brew kettle. With that much liquid gravity might be a problem so you'll need pumps and some hardcore wort chilling aparatus, not to mention serious propane burners for the brew kettle.

Unless this is a commercial venture I don't think I'd want a fermentor that big for homebrewing, its more of a pain in the ass on brewday and your brewdays will be less frequent :(

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

This is a commercial venture. And my skills are getting better day by day, practicing and reading. I will take some courses in the future, do you recommend any?

I am getting the fermentors along with two 25 gallon Blichmann pots, and also 2 big burners. What is the estimated price for all of this, in your opinion?

Let me know if you have any other comments or suggestions, they are greatly appreciated. Have you brewed on this scale before?

Thanks, Caguama
