I was wondering if anyone had any insight on how to make a blackberry wheat using a Coopers Wheat Beer Kit. I am thinking about just mashing and boiling up two or three pounds of frozen blackberries and pouring into the primary fermenter before adding the wort and water to the mix. Does this sound right? Any further suggestions? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Adding fruit prior to fermentation has the tendency to drive off the aroma and affect the flavor as well. You may try adding them adding them into a secondary carboy, and racking onto them after primary fermentation is complete.

I recently did an apricot wheat and did two weeks in the primary then racked into a Carboy with apricot puree for an additional ten days. Came out great

If you get a bottle of concentrated blackberry syrup, you can put it in with the priming sugar in the bottling bucket. Seems like the best way for the sugar from the syrup to not get eaten up.
