I am looking for an extract recipe for a black IPA/ cascadian ale with a good hoppy flavor and aroma. I would prefer not to do a kit and am looking for something like otter creeks black IPA. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

½ lb Carafa III (put into the kettle for 30 minutes at about 155 and keep below 158)
At boil add
1 lb Briess Dry Malt Extract – Dark
2 Cans Liquid Malt Extract – Light
Once back to boil after addition of the DME and LME add:
1 oz Centennial 10.3AA (60 minute bittering hop)
1 oz Challenger 6.7AA (60 minute bittering hop)
At 30 minutes add:
1 oz Zythos 10.1AA
1 oz Cascade 6.4 AA
at 5 minutes add:
1 oz Cascade 6.4 AA
Dry hop with 1 oz Cascade

I use Safale American Ale Yeast US-05.

I also use Irish moss at 15 minutes.

I typically leave in the primary for 14 days. Dry hop after the vigorous fermentation has stopped at about 5 days.

Im shure there is one in the ipa recipes,or someone can help you convert and all grain black ipa to a extract. But heres one from the complete Homebrew beer book Ive done but I did an all grain version of this extract recipe:

Yeast: wlp001,1056,or S05 dry, I think I used caliv liquid yeast(I love this yeast)
0G: 1.068

1 lb of crystal 60
1 lb of brown or other dark-toasted malt (Ive become a big fan of brown malt myself)
12 oz of dehusked carafa II
5.5 US GAL brewing water
6.6 lb any brand light malt extract
Bittering: 12-14 AAU's any high alpha acid hops
Later additions:
1 lb Demerara or other dark raw sugar
1 tsp irish moss
1 tsp yeast nutrient
Aroma hops:
3 oz Amarillo, cascade, citra(or other citrusy) half at flameout, half dryhopped or for more of a hoppy flavor do some 20-10 min boil hop additons. Adding another oz or more.
