I tried for the 1st time to scale down a recipe, and chose Bier's Centennial Blonde. I used Beer Calculus (also for the 1st time) to scale it down. I also used DB's stovetop AG method. (again a first)
1 lb 8 oz. Pale Malt (2 row)
2 oz. Cara/Pils/Dextrine
2 oz. Caramel/Crystal Malt- 10L
2 oz. Vienna Malt
.125 Centennial @ 15 mins
.125 Cascade @ 10 mins
.125 Cascade @ 5 mins
Subbed US-05 for Nottingham (LHBS was out of Nottingham)
According to Beer Calculus
21.7 IBU
5.1% ABV
I think it went pretty well, i hit 150 for 60 mins right on, but my sparge temp dropped by about 10 degrees in the 10 min's I let it sparge in the other pot.
Let me know what u think i could change next time, or how u think it will turn out.
