2 years ago when I first started living in Argentina, I met 2 guys who were biking from Alaska all the way to the tip of Argentina. I think they had been gone for 15 months or something. Crazy!
Has anyone done any adventure bicycle touring trips long distances?
Friends are planning one for next year. Looked for a forum out there but doesn't seem to be anything near the size of avrider for bicycles.
I love that blog. One of three I actually follow.Check these guys out:

They visited our homebrew club a few months back and then set out on their trip. They have a lot of information in there and links to websites that they used to plan their trip.
Hey looper, the two guys you met, were they British perhaps? If they're who I'm thinking of, they're relatively well known (I think) in the adventure sport world; North Pole to South Pole by human and natural-powered means only (kayak, dogsled, biking, etc). Must have been pretty cool to hear their story, if it was them.
On a more somber note, one of the pair actually perished in an ice climbing accident about a year after their trip was complete..

I have done some bikepacking as well. bikepacking.net is a good source. :rockin:
So my guess is you ride a Cannondale, Surly?![]()
there's always ragbrai if you're looking for a ride from one side of iowa to the other in late july!

Ended up talking with her for a bit and found out she was riding from Walla Walla,WA to Baja Ca on a solo journey. Big props for a female flying solo especially on a mt. bike.
