So, My first brew in a bag attempt went seemingly smooth. Made a harpoon IPA clone. My issue, when I pour the beer it appears to separate in my glass? no idea what this could be. So the beer is super hazy (which I dont mind) but the top half inch of the glass seems like thinner liquid, and the rest is below. Very hard to explain, couldn't find anything else in the threads. I will try to remember to take a picture later.

In order to help you, I need to know whether this was poured from a keg or was bottle conditioned.

Side note: I see you are from Bavaria, Germany. Lucky guy! Some of the best beers in the world come from your neck of the woods.

It was poured from a keg. And yeah man, I have a pretty hard life over here with all the great beer. Thanks for the help:mug:

Since it's super hazy, maybe you're seeing the yeast settling. Just a guess.

yeah maybe so, I also have researched this whole "NE IPA" stuff, and apparently it looks like that anyways. just not sure of the separation? weird stuff.

When using a lot of flaked oats or corn, I have had wicked, heavy clouds of gunk in the final product. It settles as you describe. It does settle in the keg too, the beer is fine, but it takes a few extra days.

My system is BIABasket, not a bag, but may be similar.

What's in this recipe?

im currently "not at work on the forum" the book is at my house. but it is from the clone brew book, all grain version of harpoon ipa. Once I stumbled upon someone saying those NE style IPAs are just a cloudy mess, I googled it and it appears to be pretty much what I am seeing in the color, I will pour another glass tonight "for test purposes" and take a pic
