I have a BEVAIR mm14ge cooler I picked up for free(should be an indicator) that works intermittently. I have attained this cooler for the purpose of lagering and cooling beer products (hops, yeast, etc........). It works for a few hours, and then the compressor gets hot to the touch. Won't cool below 65 and just blows ambient air temp through the cooler.
I have it set up on a temp controller, but am paranoid about ruining a beer. Should I just get ahold of a HVAC tech and have it looked over?
It ran fine for about 3 days, and then nothin. Lights, and fans work, but no cold air. I'm confused.
I'm not a HVAC tech, but I am mechanically inclined.
Need to re-up the Refrigerant? Need some advice.
TIA
Scott

Do u hear a clicking noise every couple minutes? I think it could b some type of relay maybe?

I've looked into that. I can manually adjust the temp, and when I turn it all the way down, the load comes off the compressor, and then I can hear a load go back onto it when I turn it back up.
No noticeable clicking takes place, as far as I know.

Your unit might be a little different.. but I did some home work on these commercial style fridges..

few things you can check

Look inside unit where fan is blowing look to see if coil frozen over

Make sure the cooling fins near the compressor are all clean and not all blocked up with dust and anything else along with making sure the cooling fan is working.

SOrry but im not all familiar with the proper terms just yet for each part
