TX brewing does not include free shipping like Colorado Brew and Spike so that should be taken into account. Shipping is probably an additional $20 or more.

You are correct. I think for me it would be $205 total. For Spike, I would still need the purchase the ball valve and thermometer, and then I would need to purchase a sight glass for gallon markings. That ends up being a $140 difference. I know there are some reasons for price difference, but for my preferences it seems to be a good value.

Edit: I see Spike has a new kettle coming out soon with internal gallon markings. I'm curious what the price will be on those.

if you haven't already been I would encourage you to check out the store. It's over in Haltom city. A bit of hike form McKinney but it's a great store. The kettles look fanatastic (I've not used one) and I wish I had known about this place when I was starting up my brewery. i would head over and take a look in person. Kick the tyres so to speak.

Great folks, great service, great selection. I am not affiliated in any way other than being a very happy customer.

Pick up some bulk grain or a few planned rcipes to make it worth your while on gas.

Thanks for the heads up. I just checked a map and didn't realize its on my way to Martin House. I have a friend that plays guitar at some of their tours. Sounds like I will have to stop by sometime.

The TX Brewing kettle looks really similar to the Colorado Brew Systems I have, especially the lid. Probably all come out of China but for the price it's worth it.
Spike Brewing has a couple kettles in their bargain cave you might want to check out. Probably can save you a few bucks.

From what I've seen CO Brewing's welds aren't up to par with what I'd expect from a 'professional' company. This is from another thread where someone posted their CO Brewing kettle. Notice the multiple weld imperfections. I've seen stuff coming from China that looks 10x better...

I just ordered the SSBrewing Technologies 15 gallon kettle. While it does not have welded fittings it is heavier guage than most, has the triclad bottom and comes standard with the trub dam. Some of the others shown in previous posts are real nice, the SS tech pots grabbed my attention

Yeah the Ssbrewing kettles look great. A little more expensive but they have everything and that trub dams pretty cool

I have a 10g from txbrewing.com it was the cheapest kettle with welded fittings I found and I am very happy with it. If I could do it again I would order it without the ball valve and thermometer and order the parts from bargain fittings. I think the same 2 piece valve is 25 or something when ordered with the kettle that is less than 10 from bargain fittings.

Absolutely agree. The same is true for the kettle I got from Northernbrewer. Could have saved some cash and gotten better fittings a at a better price with bargainfittings.com.

Bought all my cam locks and fittings from them. Great service, great website too. Lots to be learned from it.

Good info on Stubby's kettles.
