I was planning on using up some ingredients I had from previous extracts, and came across a Duvel clone that would use up the lbs pilsner lme I have. It called for Czech Saaz and WPL570.....so I picked those up at my lhbs.

I was all set to brew today when I noticed the alcohol was 8.5% and called for a starter or 3 vials of WP570.

I honestly don't want to make a starter, just because I'm lazy and want to brew today AND wouldnt mind a lower alcohol content. The recipe calls for 2.5pounds of cane sugar.....my thought is possibly I could only put in like .5 lbs and maybe the 1 vial of yeast would be ok?

I'm not trying to duplicate any specific beer, just make something tasty with what I've already purchased.

Any help or suggestions welcomed!!
