I recently made a beginner mistake. After bottling a double IPA I directly placed the bottles into the fridge. I tried one of the beers last night and it was good but tree was no carbonation. After doing research I found out I shouldn't have placed the beer into the fridge. I took the beer out of the fridge and put it in a warm dark room. Will the beer carbonate now after a few weeks or did I ruin the batch. :(

You might have to swirl some yeast & trub off the bottom of the bottles to get it going after it warms up,though.

Don't worry about it. Just let them warm back up. The yeast don't die or anything at refrigerator temps and especially not in a day. They will warm up and get back to work.

Hello all and thanks for all the responses. I am feeling a little better after reading your replies, but the beer was in the fridge for two weeks. I tried one last night and that's when I quickly realized something was wrong. I have taken all the beer out of the fridge and placed them into a 70 degree room. Do you think this still will work? The beer tasted amazing, but I'm not a fan of uncarbonated beer!

Yes...it will carbonate most likely. I've done it......
Think of the people that harvest yeast and keep it in fridges.....and then bring it out for starters they make.....it will work.

If it was like a year I would start to have slight concerns but outside of that it will carb, might take slightly longer than it would have if you didn't noob out but it will be all good. :D

Thanks again! Like I said the beer is so good, would hate to have to drink it flat!
