Hey guys I just did my first Brew day today. I'm making an American pale ale that comes with the morebeer! Deluxe starter kit. I felt very confident my first time and everything went smooth. After pouring in the fermenter the OG was I'm the expected range. However I felt like I have alot of that rubbish stuff in the bottom. I tried not to let as much as I could go in. Is that bad at all, or should I be fine?

Totally fine! We all get jelly fish and other weird looking formations in the fermenter. Here's my Kolsch before I pitched the yeast (it was way too hot so it was sitting in a cold garage to cool down). Happens every time and the beer turns out great.

Looks good.

Just curious, does morebeer instruct you to just pour the whole kettle of wort in, or do they tell you to try not to pour in the hop sludge?
 
The instructions tell you to use a spiggot on the kettle to transfer... However my kettle doesn't have one so I poured it. I didn't pour it all in because several videos I watched said not to let all of the sludge go in
 
Some sludge is ok in that it isn't detrimental and doesn't add off flavors. Some trub can actually be helpful to the health of the yeast.

When I brewed 1-gallon batches I was trying to squeeze every bottle I could out of it and I tried really hard to leave the trub behind. But now that I mostly make 3-gallon batches I just try to keep the hop sludge out. I typically siphon from the kettle to the carboy.

Your beer looks fine.

I keep pouring until the sludge is so thick it won't pour any more. Anything you leave behind that contains wort is potential beer lost. Dump it all in, ferment it out, let it settle good, and collect all the beer you brewed.
 
That's a nice looking fermenter and the spigot will make it easy to transfer post fermentation. The idea is that junk will all compact and settle to the bottom below the line of the faucet. It looks like you have a decently wide top to the fermenter. In the future if you want to you can try to put a small sanitized fine mesh strainer on top to filter out some junk as you transfer from pot to fermenter. Assuming you can find a small one that fits well. I do this with my fermenting buckets and it helps. But with my carboy style ones the neck is too narrow. Looks like yours is a good deal bigger.
 
Thanks I will have to look out for a mesh that size, will that help clear the beer up too?
 
A good, old cold crash will help with that and possibly some finnings used in the boil with a healthy low temp. whirlpool. But you made beer, so that's good. Thumbs up!

When I brew, I use some finnings in the boil and if the yeats is not that kind that floccultates weell, I cold crash and possibly use some gelatine/isenglass to clear it even more. Most beers will clear out with some conditioning.
