Since we don't have a review for this software yet, I figured I'd ask a few questions here. I know a couple of you have purchased this software and I was just wondering if any of you are willing to give us a somewhat detailed accout of it. I'm looking to try it out and migrate my ProMash stuff to it. Anyone tried that yet? Also, I know it's kind of petty but, does it have a cost per batch/bottle calculator? Thanks guys.

I know it calculates cost if you enter the material expenses.

I like it, but I haven't tried anything else. It has some good pre-sets in it. One thing I don't like is that recently, one of my recipe files disappeared into nothingness. Can't find it anywhere.

I'm taking a shot in the dark here, but your file may have "disappeared" due to the saving process. For some reason when you have a previously saved file and then re-save using the 'save as' function, you must type the file name AND ".btp"

You can find out if this is the case by opening "my computer" and searching for the file. If you find it, just rename it with a .btp extension at the end of it. That allows beer tools pro to find it in the "open" dialog box.

I hope you can retrieve it!

Beer tools pro will give you a total cost for the batch. Without messing with any of the prices, it's been pretty accurate so far for me.

I really like the program. Building a recipe is a snap and there are tons of ingredients in the database. The coloring scale and style guidelines are very helpful too.

You can also make the tool system specific my calibrating all of your equipment. It's time consuming, so I haven't done much of it yet, but I'll do it once I have my AG process down pretty good.

From what I've hearn, you can import recipes from other programs, but I don't have first hand experience. Setting up a batch sparge process takes a bit of a learning curve, but once you get it, you'll be fine.

One other nice thing is that the forum over there is pretty good. People answer questions pretty quickly, you can suggest improvements and report bugs. The developers even answer questions on occasion.

All in all, I'd but it again

I like it and I would recommend it too. The one thing that I do not like is that there are no "Brew Sessions" so to speak. Everything you save is a recipe, you could change the name of the recipe to reflect the brew date or something like that but no sessions like Beersmith.

I like the mash schedule feature, very handy. Also the analysis is great too.
