Beer review sites and apps

What site is considered "the gold standard" for beer reviews if there is one?

I would also be interested in other opinion, I just downloaded two apps on my ipad but haven't used them yet...TapHunter and Untapped.

I'm not sure if any are really "the best." I think they all have their issues, and it's just a matter of learning the foibles of whichever you use and accounting for them. I personally use BeerAdvocate, FWIW. I'm also on Untappd, but that's more of interest for seeing what other people you know are drinking (whose taste you trust) than aggregating reviews from strangers.

I have the ratebeer.com app that I usually refer to if im at the craft brew shop or bar and see something I havent had before. But at some craft bars ive noticed ratings by beer descriptions,thats when I started wondering where are these number standards coming from
