Hi - new to the forum but have learned a ton by reading old threads.

I have a new mini fridge converted kegorator using 1/6 kegs. The first keg I ran was great, minimal issues with foam but it ran out last week. I just brought home a new keg and when I took the cap off to tap it there was beer pooled on the top. I didn't think much of it, soaked it up and tapped it. Well now I have VERY foamy beer and bubbles in the line. Could I have an issue with the keg seal?

Thanks!

that sounds a little sloppy if the brewery left beer under that cap. bit it's not unheard of. My suspicion is more along the lines of :

  • got shaken up when you brought it home.
  • got warmed up when you brought it home.
  • over-carbonated for your kegerator temp.

Give it a couple days to settle, maybe bleed some pressure off, and re-evaluate.
One other thing you can do is spray some starsan on the coupler to ensure it's not leaking .
