Hi I am using a brew kit ( syrup and sugars and yeast) I have kegged my first batch and tastes greats pours well but doesn't retain it's head what can I add next time to help this?

More info

Start with type of beer

And recipe

It's probably just the style of beer you made

It's not your glassware is it?
If you use a glass that's been washed in the dishwasher, it probably has some jet-dry or other surfactant that will kill the head on a beer.
I have several glasses that I hand wash that are just for beer drinking :D

i usally throw a pound in every batch i do. 5 gallon batch. i mean that is the perfect way to do it but it comes in a pound so that is how i do it. it could be your glases too, but i get real good head on my beer.

No it's not the glass there fine, because I am not boiling my brew do I just add it when I add my sugar?

No just a kit, boil 2 lt water add syrup sugar 20lt cold water and yeast just learning this way first then start the boil

I actually found by using raw sugar when bottling the head is more like bought beer compared to plain white sugar or carb tablets.. actually my uncle who put me onto that one. Works like a charm without fail ;) just use slightly less than it says, otherwise if you're using glass bottles there'll be a higher chance of explosion, or when you open it your beer will go everywhere, leaving you with just half a bottle. Experience speaks :mug:

I will give you a suggestion instead of the sugar add dme. That will give you a really good beer. what kit are you using????
