Beer lines

I just got a new kegerator and put new beer lines in my tower. Is there any reason to clean and sanitize the beer lines before running beer through them? Thanks.

There's something to be said for walking a pressurized keg with a gallon or so of fresh water through each tap in the system just to leak-check and flush out any random debris (like plastic flashing bits from connectors, etc)...
