What do you think about shipping from MI to CA? It gets pretty cold at night, and I'm afraid the bottles might burst if they are left out on a truck overnight in Chicago...

I err on the side of caution when it come to shipping weather. As long as the package is through Chicago by the weekend, you shouldn't have to worry there. Depending on the route, it's looking like cold nights in the high plains, though. I always try and ship so the box gets delivered the same week I ship and doesn't risk sitting on a truck over the weekend.

The second one is landing today! Its last known location was Hunker, PA and is going to someones place of business. That should narrow it down :D

I think I was just the victim of a secret BIF haha. This just showed up with no message. My only guess is that its from SandStone??? Either way thank you to whoever sent it! I have never had this but have another one from 2013 that I can now do a mini vert with sometime :D Thanks!

So, i am interested in sending out a bif, but the guy lives about 20 minutes from me I might as well deliver! Can't figure out what to send though since we most likely shop at the same stores or have the same distribution so I can't send him anything 'special'. What have you all done in this situation? I know that any beer is good beer but I would really like to be able to thank him.

I would pick something that you have in your cellar that isnt distributed in your area. That you dont have any, you could always send good stuff from your area. I would still be thrilled if someone shipping a box of tallgrass to me :rockin:

Or put out the request on this thread and someone might pick it up and end up sending stuff outside your distro.

Tall grass sure was good stuff. Enough that I got a friend to request it in a trade :)

So, anyone willing to ship to NY and I'll ship to their bif somewhere outside my distribution area? A bif trade? :)

I believe it was sent to your office. I googled the address that I was given (Oakland ave in Indiana, PA) and it seemed to be an office building so I sent it there. Signed for by L. Stiles.

I'm thinking we may need to revamp how we get our addresses, my last one went to a wrong addy to.... or maybe i'm just bad luck.. i'm even 1 of 120 or so that didn't get to enter the AHA nat. homebrewers comp. that lottery didn't like me. so they say it comes in 3's... i hit my mark. lol

WOOOHOOO!!! i found it it's at the ups store in indiana pa where i ship from!! they are going to hold it there for me. i'll pick it up after work in the morning.

thank you finsfan..

Thank you VERY much Finsfan. Heck of a BIF package you sent. Only thing I've had is the VBBS, very excited to try all of them, but especially the homebrews. I've read about apfelwein for a long time but have never tried any. Thanks again!!

Your welcome! You cant taste the cinnamon in the apfelwein so thats pretty much what edworts recipe taste like, with montrachet yeast. Very easy to make and always a hit, plus it gets you drunk fairly quick. Enjoy! :mug:
