Hello all. I know I'm new here but I usually do the introduction thing when I get the chance. I started brewing about 7 years ago after being stationed in Washington State. The PNW is, to me at least, land of the micro brews. There were so many different types of beer to choose from that I literally went bonkers trying to taste them all. It was a different sixer every day or so for about 6 months. One day, I was visiting the neighboring city and found a brew pub called "The Rockfish Grille and Cafe". It was a marvelous dining (and drinking) experience. When SWMBO and I exited the building we stopped for the obligatory PNW BUNDLE UP. As we stood there we noticed a sign right next door that read "North West Brewers Supply." Being in an adventurous mood we decided to go in and see what was the what. That is where we met our dealer. Larry is the most passionate and patient brewer I have ever known (and the only one I knew at that point). We left that slice of heaven with a starter kit, all the equipment needed to get started and two bonus kits for variety sake.

We've been stationed in Japan for the last three years and are about to return to Whidbey in the next few weeks. Living here has made brewing more difficult than we could justify. Locating supplies, waiting for shipping and then to top it off the space requirements just couldn't be satisfied. The kicker is that the temperatures inside are so difficult to regulate in winter and summer that it just wasn't worth the headaches. We are both looking forward to brewing our next batch upon return to Whidbey.

I found this site because a service buddy of mine who just recently started brewing recommended it. I'm glad he did.

Thanks Dave! :mug:
