Beer filtering

Just tried to filter a batch of beer with a cartridge water filter, using a 1 micron nominal filter, I heard that this will make crystal clear beer -- but I don't see a difference from the unfiltered to the filtered!?
Has anyone had any luck with this type of set up??

I have a filter, but I have yet to try it.

I have had good luck using gelatin and the beer turns out crystal clear.
