Anyone know the best place to get or order beer faucets? These things are expensive for the faucet and shank.

I have two perlick 525SS and I wouldn't have it any other way. I even sorta regret not getting stainless shanks just because I'm really pro stainless.

Im pretty sure Adventures in Homebrewing (homebrewing.org) still has the cheapest price for 525SS taps at 33 dollars each...i got mine on super sale about a year ago for 30...

Plop down the extra green for the Perlick 525SS faucets and SS shanks at the start. In the long-run, it's less expensive.

If you buy the cheaper generic chrome-plated kind, not only can the plating flake over time (revealing brass), but they have a bad reputation for sticking and leaking. After the problems, you'll give up and buy the Perlicks anyway. The old ones will go in the trash or make interesting paperweights.

Whats the matter with Chrome shanks though if you use Perlicks? You cant even see the shanks anyways and i cant think of any reason they would flake off as they arent being worn at all once mounted...

I've seen more than enough pics on this forum posted by folks wondering why their chrome shanks are showing brass in places that beer touches.

I'm not a metallurgist, I deal in ones and zeroes and very expensive toys for nerdy corporations.
I have no idea why chrome plating isn't stable in beer dispensing applications, but I'm convinced it is not...

Cheers!

I'm building my keezer now and I ordered my Perlicks/SS shanks through Farmhouse, they had nice prices. I was definitely in the "Perlick/stainless or nothing" camp.

Birdman has a 525SS combo for $58. This includes the faucet, SS shank, tailpiece assembly and handle.

I made two 3 tap Keezers about 9 mo. ago. One was with 525 ss, and the other was 525 chrome. Both are working great with zero problems as of yet....

+1 on Kegconnection. Being from Texas, the keg and parts I ordered in November were on my porch the next day.
