Kegged an American Red last weekend. Went to pull the first pint last night and the keg was empty...
WTF? Did I have a party and not invite myself? I was dumbfounded. My roomie, who has done his share of keg draining, denied any involvement.
The fridge smelled of old beer but there was no evidence of a spill or a leak. However, the CO2 tank was empty. Something was amiss. What happened to the 5 gallons of Red? I couldn't just disappear, could it?
The mystery was solved when I opened one of the produce bins at the bottom of the fridge. It was completely full of beer. Evidently there was a slow leak the "beer out" fitting.
Over the course of a week the full volume of the cornie was drained into the produce drawers. I didn't even get one glass of beer out of that keg. Not even a sample.
