Yeah dude! Are you the guy who was asking about this on BA (or something) earlier? I remember being super jealous when you got it, that thing for $300 is such a steal. I could fit my entire cellar in there easily...

The probe is inside a bottle filled with water and 2oz Isopropyl Alcohol.
It's been working awesome.

Craigslist, buy a fridge and temp controller. Should be able to do it for $300. Prices increase as you get "fancier" with the fridge.Anyone have any recommendations for wine/beer fridges. somewhere in the 500-1500$ price range
old post I know....but nice to know that if I take too much money from you playing cards that you can pay out in booze.![]()

OK, it feels good to have never contributed these to BA, but whip them out to BT within a month of joining. I have another fridge or two I don't have pics of, and a few more wine racks.
I'll get them uploaded next time I have a really slow Friday like today.

Beer Cellar DIY tip #1: recycling wine barrel rings.

Space under the stairs. Stretches to the left about 2 more studs. Going to outfit with a reading lamp and a recliner. Man cave within the man cave. Oh yeah...
If this were my house, I'd never leave this room!Operation "Captain Man Cave" done (for today). Last touch will be a drop lamp, bluetooth speakers and a feng shui desk waterfall feature to kick up the humidity a notch (Colorado dry). V2 will include buttoning up the gaps to bring the temp down a few degrees and ventilation so I can light up a stoagie at my leisure. Oh, and I included on Schlitz clock mirror (not pictured) I just found on craigslist for $40 (steal).
Catharsis at its finest.

I just need to build in a drawer to keep a supply of fresh boxers and maybe retro-fit the Adirondack into a multi-functional toilet lounger. If this were my house, I'd never leave this room!
Who changes their boxers?I just need to build in a drawer to keep a supply of fresh boxers and maybe retro-fit the Adirondack into a multi-functional toilet lounger.
I'm not an animal. I like to keep it fresh.Who changes their boxers?
Thanks, If you or anyone else wants the rough plans/description on how to get it done I will give a list of materials and explain how I did it. I had no help in putting any of it together, so at first Leveling everything was a bitch but I figured it out.Very nicely done. I like that a lot.

so long as the supports (vertival 2x4's) are set on the floor, the floor does not need to be 100% level (mine isn't) I did not build the racks and then stand them up for this reason, I built them standing in place where they would be permanently and leveled each shelf as I put them in. It did take a little longer than it should have, but the alternative was to pour cement to level the floor which would have taken longer, Also If i started that project my OCD would have compelled me to level the entire floor.I will probably hit you up for this later. Needs to level out the basement floor first. It's basically just uneven dirt at this point.

I do have 1 heating pipe going through the top shelf really close to the door. I insulated the crap out of it with the thickest fiberglass pipe insulators i could find and used foil tape on all joints and the seam to keep all the heat inI hear you there! Our basement is so small that if you're going to do one spot you might as well do it all. Also, I'm going to have to move a water pipe too. I'm going to go ahead and PM you for the plans. I need to begin scheming.
