Beer Barrel & Sediment

Hi All!

I'm very new to this and just trying my first brew with a starter kit.

My question is this :-

My beer barrel has a tap at the bottom, once the beer is ready how to i get rid of the sediment. Is it just a case of draining off a few pints ?

Any tips on how to reduce the sediment as I'd like to have a clear beer.
