I got this idea from an online HBS, and I wanted something to keep my 3 gallon corny chilled. It's almost done, as soon as my Perlick faucet comes in, I'll take the cheap one off my kegerator and put it on the shank. I used a 1/4" MFL Bulkhead from Austin Homebrew for my Gas In plus of those little CO2 cartridge for charging, but I still can hook up a larger bottle with regulator if I need to. I need to find a small bottle though. This puppy has wheels and handle that pops up like rolling suitcase. The best part is the drain in the back, so ice can be replaced without floating the keg in water. It's an Igloo Extreme, so it will be interesting on how long the ice lasts, but my money is on the contents disappearing faster.

Are you going to stabilze the keg? I wouldn't want it bouncing around in there.

Thanks! I intend to have it packed with ice on the way out. Now I do have a back pack that this keg will fit in and I also have a neoprene sleeve for it too.....All in the interest of portability.

I'll be using it in a couple of weekends from now to transport 3 gallons of hard cider to a neighborhood BBQ/Brewfest.

sweet!!! I tell ya what thought...if there are any amount of drinkers there that keg is gonna get kicked in like an hour! -30 beers... :)

Ya, it'll go fast, but at this neighborhood brew fest, there'll be a corny of a Duval clone, an English Bitter, a Porter, and half barrel of Austin's Live Oak Pilz. Not to mention everyone who comes has to bring a six pack of micro-brews for the community cooler.

Needless to say, there will be pleanty O' Beer. It's a good thing it's within walking distance.

I should live in Texas because everything I do is BIG. I made a portable tap system also but it's just not as portable as that one.....

That's pretty sweet! Can you fit 4 cornies in there? how long does the ice last? Problably long enough :cross:

4 cornies fit perfect and I wrap it with a moving blanket. The ice lasts 3 days in 85 degree weather... I use 4 - 20lb bags.

Ed - Thanks for the great idea !! A couple buddies and I saw your pictures and now we are doing the same thing. We picked these coolers up at target for $30 and by removing one of the handles and cutting the "bottom" out of the top we can fit two 3 gallon cornys in it.....
