Racked my Irish stout (first brew eva!) to my secondary, washed the 1084, and brewed a Columbus/Amarillo IPA yesterday. I feel like that is a bit of work for a n00b! Thought I would tell somebody who might appreciate it instead of droning on about it to the SWMBO.

Thanks all for your tips/advice. Even if you didn't answer a question directly, you still probably answered a question I had. I think I've read durn near every thread on here! You guys rock! :rockin:

Congrats! I know how you feel. My wife sits and listens but you can tell it's going in one ear and out the other. Don't worry, we are all here for you:mug:

No worries. My wife tries to be nice and pretend she cares about my brewing stories, but she just can't seem to hide the "I don't give a crap" look on her face.

I usually start out with "I know you dont really give a crap but...." when im going to mention something about homebrewing to swmbo.

She then does a good job pretending like she does.

....AND I just got a pound of hops in the mail from farmhousebrewingsupply! Score!

For those that care (all 4oz bags): Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial, Goldings

Now taking suggestions for how to use them. I think a Columbus/Centennial/Simcoe IPA is in the cards.

They are gone now, but appear every now and then on farmhousebrewingsupply.com. I missed them the first time and figured that they were out for the season, but kept checking back just in case. Paid off when I saw them there on the 4th. :mug:

haha nice.. yeah... was looking to brew a PTE clone a month or 2 back. " WTF wheres the Simcoe!" didnt know about the shortage. well.. fingers crossed for the new harvest in the Fall.

Congrats on the New Beer and the Hop Score :)

My wife doesn't even pretend to care about my brewing. I start talking and she interrupts immediately with "I don't care," and the proceeds to get pissed off if I keep talking about it. Fortunately she doesn't interfere too much with my brewing itself (as long as the bills get paid before I buy supplies).

Way to go! Evey one here goes through this, I listen when SWMBO talks Wang,Vera Bradley,DB, and don't get them started on shoes. So she is going to hear about beer, + we just come back from Wisconsin with 200+lbs of grain and couple cases of craft brew, love a good road trip.:tank:
