Divis has changed a ton since I used to live there. Not far from haight: Wing Wings, Palmyra (cheap but solid falafel and Schwarma), Little Chihuahua on divis. Popeyes has a dirt cheap deal on Tuesdays, ZFG.
NEVER apologize for Popeyes. Great chicken and biscuits. Along with Godzilla Sushi and (Burger) King of Falafel, those are three of the old timey Western Addition businesses still kicking.

Never made it to King. Used to live off of Post when I first moved to SF.

But yeah, I find even the best artisanal fried chicken to be bland in comparison to Popeyes Spicy.

Looking for the following people locally (I'm in San Mateo):

Tree maintenance/Arborist (tosh don't u know someone?)
Paver walkway/patio installer
Fireplace repair/mason

Have beer and $$ for work done or referrals. Bonus if the work can be done this weekend.

We have used Bruce Thompson from that list a few times, does good work and is not at all expensive - We have used him mainly for aesthetic work, but he also did work on our Loquat tree last year that including stripping all the fruit and thinning it out as the fruit was so heavy on the branches.

I have a Mexican guy that does my front yard that would probably be alright at tree maintenance, but I can't speak to for sure. I've been pruning my own fruit trees, slowly.

Let me know if you find a good fireplace repair person, that's on my to-do list.

Pavers aren't so bad to do yourself, I did my patio and will be doing another section here sometime soon IF IT'LL ******* STOP RAINING ON WEEKENDS.

Yeah definitely, it's more of a time issue. Less rain would help.

Sorry. My "I have a Mexican guy and other douchey things to say.gif" search came up with crickets.
Eh, you can take it as a douchy comment if you like, but as a recommendation it got across the pertinent information in a concise manner. The guy who takes care of my front yard is literally from Mexico, has limited english, and works out of his truck to take care of my front yard every other week.

Some of those things are pretty critical when giving a recommendation - especially the language barrier and the fact that he's not a licensed landscaper - and are encompassed when labeling as a random Mexican guy.
