Not related to the brewery. Would take a not so wild stab that it's short for Graventstein Hwy South (116).
And/or the apple for which that highway is named.

I'll be out in SF for work at the end of the month, with one day of PTO mixed in. Was going to use that Beer by BART website to try to plan my day off. It looks like it's relatively current, but can anyone confirm if there's anything big errors, omissions, closings, etc. on there?
Seems to be a good chunk of new east bay breweries/I'm out of the loop. Any of these are worth hitting up today?
Alameda Island
Linden St
Temescal
Woods
Diving Dog
Hoi Polloi
Any have good food service/bring your own?
Plan on hitting Cleophus Quealy, Drake's barrel house (I like weird stuff), and maybe Faction. Seeing a show at the Fox. Not doing Berkeley this time, but I'm a fan of Fieldwork.
Not sure what spot(s) you are looking to hit on your one day off, but with a day off I would hit Toronado - City Beer Store - Cellarmaker - Fieldwork - Sierra Nevada Tap Room. Can get to each one of these places by Muni (bus)/lyft or uber and then BART over to the East Bay. City Beer Store is a short walk to or from Cellarmaker.
Added my notes in bold.Seems to be a good chunk of new east bay breweries/I'm out of the loop. Any of these worth hitting up today?
Alameda Island - Haven't been
Linden St - Nope
Temescal - Nope
Woods - Nope (but is close to Diving Dog & Beer Rev/Trappist)

Stay at Drakes, CQ has stalled beerwise In my opinion.Seems to be a good chunk of new east bay breweries/I'm out of the loop. Any of these worth hitting up today?

Never been. They seem more interesting than most.Stay at Drakes, CQ has stalled beerwise In my opinion.
The place next to it is cool and has good food. I went there once and they randomly had Cantillon gueuze. But yeah, skip Linden St unless you are really into like black lagers or something.Fyi, Linden is closin/moving soon. Plus, meh.
Going to some Giants games this weekend. Gonna be walking around the park/wharf area. Last time drank SNPA & Baby Daddy, can't remember where exactly. . .
Anyways, anyone got any recommendations? Doesn't have to be neckbeard stuff (although dats cool too), just a cool place to grab a pale ale & wings type of **** you might like.
Public House for neckbeard stuff. If you've never been, it has direct access to the park, so you can bring your Blind Pig or whatever into the game.Going to some Giants games this weekend. And the beer is ~30% cheaper than in the stadium.Public House for neckbeard stuff. If you've never been, it has direct access to the park, so you can bring your Blind Pig or whatever into the game.
And you can go back/forth in the 2nd inning when your beer runs out. Just be back in before the start of the 7th otherwise you are stuck drinking better beer and watching the game on TV.And the beer is ~30% cheaper than in the stadium.
I was actually really impressed with CQStay at Drakes, CQ has stalled beerwise In my opinion.
Speaking of baseball. Have two bleacher seats to Sunday's game versus the Cardinals. Section 139, row 10. Free to a good home.
